Jon Gillespie
Facilities Manager
Jon joined the camp staff in February, 2007. He is responsible for facilities’ and grounds’ maintenance, supervising summer help, organizing volunteer projects, helping to promote LCSC, and helping wherever needed.
Jon grew up on a farm, helped run a grain elevator, and then went into the preaching ministry for 15 years. He also has 6 ½ years maintenance experience in a high school. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in preaching and a Master’s Degree in counseling. After getting his son and daughter through high school, he wanted to return to ministry and felt the camp would be a good “fit” for his background.
He and his wife, Laurel, have been married for 31 years, and they enjoy traveling. Jon also enjoys reading, golf, woodworking, and carving in his spare time. His daughter, Heather, is pursuing a Music Business degree at Belmont University in Nashville. His son, Joshua, is completing his Business Administration degree at Illinois State while working in Bloomington in software design and tech support. His daughter-in-law, Kelly, is working on her doctorate in Cellular Biology at the University of Illinois and his grand-daughter, Ashlyn, (the brightest and most beautiful grandchild ever) is pursuing toys and balloons in preschool!
